Biography:
Early Years: Private piano instruction beginning at the age of eight. Composed and performed original score for The Trial of Surrealism at the University of Virginia. Graduated with Bachelor of Arts Degree, May 1985, University of Virginia.
PostCollege/Present Day
Lived and recorded music in London, England, 1985 to 1986. Joined Stage Sound, live concert production services in 1987. Initiated and directed comprehensive 10-week recording arts class for Virginia Western Community College in 1987. Toured national college circuit as keyboardist and guitarist for Jane Powell, during which time Powell was named Entertainer of the Year and Jazz Artist of the Year by NACA in 1988. Performed original new/jazz music in eight videos comissioned by WBRA television in 1988. Produced, wrote, performed, and engineered Picture This, an album of original new age/jazz compositions in 1989. Wrote the score for The Dropper, winner of the Norfolk and Southern Festival of New Works in 1990. Clinician for Peavey Electronics DPM3 Synthesizer, 1990. Relocated to Los Angeles, California in 1990. Programmed The Death of Klinghoffer with Jonathan Deans, the first MIDI opera, composed by John Adams in 1990. Composed music with Rob Walsh for the Hollywood Film Music Library, the feature film Dead On, That Was The Year To Remember and other film and television projects, 1992 to 1995. Worked with former Motown R&B producer Hil Davis on more than 40 tracks for various artists. Featured in December 1993 Keyboard magazine, which described Wayne’s music as "sensuous, elegant, and well-produced." Edited music and effects for feature films at Of Sound Mind from 1995 to 1997. Contributed as music editor to Emmy winning documentary Rats (National Geographic Explorer). Composed scores, trailers and indivudual music tracks for Surrender Cinema, General Media Incorporated, Creative Entertainment Group, Lipstick and others from 1995 to 2008. Wayne is also the Southern California Chairman of Long Distance Running for USATF, United States Track and Field.
