Introduction to the Modulus Graphite Blackknife Special Guitar

Unfortunately there is very little information available on the Modulus Graphite Blackknife Special Roland Guitar Synthesizer controller. From what I have been able to determine, these were a graphite-expoy neck bolted on to a Strat-type body, with a STK-1 electronics package.

I was contacted in 2006 by an owner who had recently purchased a Modulus Graphite Blackknife Special Roland Guitar Synthesizer on ebay. I did a little research and was able to find a few photos from the sale, which are included below.

I was contacted by another ebay seller who noted that his Blackknife did not have a working hex fuzz circuit. This makes sense, as the STK-1 package did not include the hex fuzz circuit. I would mention that he told me his his guitar had a 'hot pink' finish.

I have kept an eye out for any future listings, but the photos below from 2006 remain the sole sighting of this guitar, other than the original listing in Guitar Player magazine's round up of Roland Ready controllers.
