Introduction to the Epiphone Dove:

I purchased this guitar used with the Graph Tech Dove Ghost Acoustic Midi Kit already installed, so I do not know much about the history of the installation.

A few things I want to point out: The Acoustic Midi Kit acoustic pickup and preamp is designed to be powered by a 9 volt battery installed inside the guitar. Power to the acoustic pickup and preamp is provided when a 1/4" cable is plugged into the guitar.

The rear strap pin has been replaced by a strap pin that also doubles as a 1/4" guitar output. This means you can use the acoustic pickup and preamp on the guitar without a Roland synthesizer.

I have found that this strap pin by itself does not do the job of securing the guitar strap unless you have a 1/4" jack plugged in, so I strongly recommend always using some kind of 1/4" connector plugged in if you plan on using the strap.

If you only want the 13-pin, hexaphonic output from the guitar to drive a synthesizer you do not have to plug anything in. I did a performance video with this guitar where I was sitting down the entire time, using only the hexaphonic output and there was nothing plugged in to the rear strap pin.
