Introduction to the Steinberger GR Roland Guitar Synth Controller Series:

Steinberger XL2-GR Guitar Synthesizer Controller

As rare as the Steinberger Roland-Ready 24 pin guitars may be, the bass version is even harder to find.

I have been in touch with one XL2-GR owner, and amazingly enough, one was offered on ebay in September of 2014, and another sold on reverb.com in February on 2018.

The video on this page is compiled from individual videos posted by Ben Hayes, and the photos originate with the reverb.com auction.

Unfortunately, I have never had the opportunity to play one of these basses personally, or to examine the electronics. As there was only 'Roland-Ready' bass package, the BAK-1, I am including the BAK-1 schematic for reference.
